Not Just Another Training Program

Athletes need structure. In most cases they have no idea how, when or at what intensity to train or recover. Coaches don’t have the time to manage every aspect of their athlete especially during the off-season or when they are participating in other sports.

That’s where we come in. 

We manage the entire year-round lifecycle of the athlete. By using heart rate variability we can monitor the physical readiness of each athlete. Heart rate variability takes into account not only physical stress but also mental emotional and environmental factors. Understanding how much stress the athlete is under helps us to make better training related decisions and reduces the risk of overtraining and the challenges that come with it.

Each athlete in the 365 Performance program will have 3 opportunities each week to either train or recover with a member of the NSMI Sports Science staff. Some weeks may be all training or a combination of training and recovery sessions lasting approximately 1 hour each. Twice during the calendar year the athlete will be tested for performance metrics such as power output, body composition, reaction testing, and speed.  


For example: an athlete may wake up with a readiness score of 3/10. This is a great opportunity to perform both passive and active recovery. This may include compression therapy, light cycling, and/or vibration massage. 

Another example would be an athlete who wakes up with a readiness score of 8/10. This athlete will complete training as usual with adequate rest periods. Depending on the phase of training the athlete may complete strength, power, or speed training that day mixed with plyometrics, mobility and core stability. 


In summary, the 365 Performance program with NSMI Sports Science is the only program that manages the entire year-long lifecycle of the athlete. It is also the only program that bases its programming off the physiological training response of the individual athlete. 

Membership

Each participant will have the opportunity to use12 training or recovery sessions in a 30 day period. All session expire after 30 days.  Every 30 days your card on file will automatically renew for another 30 days of 365 performance training unless we receive written notice of cancellation at least 7 days before your next billing cycle.   

Currently, we are limiting our enrollment in this program to 30 athletes to maintain the high quality that has come to be expected at National Sports Medicine Institute.
