The National Sports Medicine Foundation is currently seeking accreditation for their new Athletic Training program and is not accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The NSMF will be submitting a self-study to begin the accreditation process on July 1, 2024.

How to Apply


Dates for application submission will begin November 1st through March 1st. Any applications received after March 1st will not be reviewed.

To submit an application, please follow the instructions below.

The application must include the following materials:

  • Completed NSMF Athletic Training Residency Program Application
  • Cover Letter
  • Resume/ CV
  • ATC BOC card
  • First Aid/CPR/AED card
  • Reference list (provided in application)
  • Three letters of recommendation (forms provided in application, page 12.)

If Accepted


If selected for interviews, onsite interviews will take place in March.

Final acceptance into the program will be confirmed by April 29th and program will begin in July.

The reference form can be found on page 12 of the application. References must be received at the same time as all other application materials. If the reference fails to complete the evaluation form prior to the deadline for submission the application will not be considered for review.
