Jeffrey C Farnsworth DPT
Dr. Jeffrey Farnsworth DPT is the Director of Rehabilitation at the National Sports Medicine Institute. He started as a physical therapist at NSMI in 2015. He specializes in treating sports and orthopedic related injuries, including non-surgical, pre-surgical and post-surgical.He graduated from BYU with his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science and then attended the George Washington University in Washington, D.C and graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
He has taken many continuing education courses designed to treat athletes of all ages including manual therapy, dry needling and sports and conditioning courses. He is a certified Emergency Medical Responder and he enjoys volunteering as a medical provider for many local athletic and community events. Growing up, he loved playing baseball and football and currently lives in Sterling, VA with his wife and daughter.
Ashima Chohan DPT
Dr. Ashima Chohan is a physical therapist with more than 15 years of orthopedic sports and spine experience. She graduated with the Bachelor of Physical Therapy degree in the year 1999 in India and became a licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia in 2004. Later on, she acquired her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Shenandoah University in the year 2009. She joined NSMI in 2017 and is very excited to work with compassionate and competent peers. She’s very passionate about getting her patients back to things they love to do and has experience treating patients of all ages. She has experience in treating wide variety of conditions such as headaches, plantar fasciitis, neck pain, low back pain, pre-surgical, post surgical rehab, athletic injuries and much more. She also specializes in Dry needling and has been practicing Dry needling since 2012.
Cameron Bolton DPT, OCS
Cameron graduated from The College of William and Mary in 2010 having obtained a B.S. in Kinesiology. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in 2014 and went on to complete an orthopedic residency through UVA/Virginia Orthopedic Manual Therapy Institute (VOMPTI). She is board certified in Orthopedics (OCS) and a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, including Education, Research, and Orthopedic Sections. Cameron is currently full-time faculty at Shenandoah University Division of Physical Therapy located at their Loudoun campus.
Cameron’s clinical interests include treatment of sports injuries of upper and lower extremity in young and aging athletes as well as post-surgical athletes. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor recreational activities including running and hiking.
Megan Bureau DPT, SCS
Dr. Megan Bureau DPT, SCS graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at James Madison University with a minor in Coaching and Exercise Leadership and then received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. She is a Sports Certified Specialist as recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Dr. Bureau is currently Associate Director, Assistant Professor, and Director of Clinical Education at the Shenandoah University.
She specializes in Sports Medicine, Clinical Education and Spine rehabilitation. Some of her professional highlights include Virginia Physical Therapy Association Delegate to the APTA House of Delegates; Item Writer for the National Physical Therapist Exam, Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy; 2015 VPTA Scott Sullivan Award for Outstanding Association, and 2011 APTA Emerging Leader Award Recipient.

Natalie was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX. She enjoyed rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros with her family. After attending many Astros’s games, she decided she would like to pursue a career in sports physical therapy.Natalie moved to Northern VA in January 2002. She graduated from Northern Virginia Community College as a physical therapist assistant in May 2006. She has been working in the outpatient orthopedic setting since graduating. In that time, she continues to take multiple continuing education course to expand her knowledge and manual techniques. She enjoy helping people return back to their sports and lives pain free and with the knowledge and ability to stay healthy.
Outside of work, Natalie enjoys hanging out with her husband and son and participating in 5ks, obstacle course races, crafts.

Daryl provides over ten years of experience in the sports performance industry. He has had the pleasure of working with a multitude of athletes including youth, collegiate, and professionals across a variety of sports. He also enjoys working with athletes that are looking to return to competition following an injury.
Daryl played varsity soccer for Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He has also coached high school soccer in Northern Virginia.
Daryl is a certified strength and conditioning specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and also holds a sport performance coaching certification through USA Weightlifting. Most recently coach Copley has been certified through Sportsmetrics, an organization that focuses on preventing ACL injuries.
Coach Copley is committed to advancing sports performance through proper movement patterns and athlete education. “All good movement starts with a base of strength and body control.”
- Athlete Developer
As the newest member of the NSMI team, Joe brings with him a ton of experience as a former athlete and as athlete developer. He attended James Madison University where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in exercise science. During his tenure at James Madison, Joe was also a member of the Men’s basketball team. After graduating from JMU, he pursued a career in professional basketball. In the span of his 4-year career he spent time in South America and Canada as well as summer training camp stints with the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers. It was in his time with the Blazers where he began to think about life after basketball and rekindle the fire of sports training. Under the training and tutelage of Bobby Medina (former 20 year NBA strength and conditioning coach, and current Assistant Athletic Director at Santa Clara University) coach Posey was able to learn methods that had been proven over the years as well as introduced to newer, safer and more efficient ways to improve athletes.
In the summer of 2012 and again in the summer of 2013 he was able to take advantage of another great opportunity. He packed his bags and traveled from Virginia to Portland Oregon to train at Nike. Upon arriving he was then introduced to Patrick Ward (former sports performance trainer at Nike and current Sports Scientist for the Seattle Seahawks) as well as Keith D’ Amelio (current Nike performance specialists and former Strength & Conditioning coach for Stanford University as well as the Toronto Raptors) where he studied and learned some of the latest and most innovative methods of improving athletes at the most elite levels and even had a chance to work with multiple athletes from the NBA and the NFL on a daily basis.
When he is not training Joe enjoys spending his time with his children and spending family time, mentoring youth, as well as coaching & playing basketball
Maja was born and raised in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She moved to the United States in 1998. Currently she is the patient care coordinator for the NSMI Physical Therapy office. She has a degree in computer science and has over 7 years of physical therapy office experience including verification of insurance benefits.
She enjoys spending time outdoors with her son who is very active in sports. She speaks English, Bosnian and German. “I enjoy the interaction with our patients and love to provide great customer service.”
Silvija has been with NSMI since 2015 is our physical therapy technician and front desk staff. She moved from Bosnia and Herzegovina with her husband in 1999 where she finished high school and college in tourism and traveling management. She enjoys working in medical field and taking care of patients. She is bilingual and speaks Bosnian and German. Her personal time loves to spend with her husband and kids. She is a mother of two lovely girls who love dancing and playing soccer.
